The investigation has led authorities to suspect that a guy driving a black Chevrolet Malibu who was 22 years old and from Austin, Indiana, was moving north on the right lane of the highway near a man driving a white GMC Terrain who was 31 years old and from Indianapolis.
Albertson was traveling in the Terrain as a passenger. The two cars can be seen in a video recorded by another vehicle in the region speeding up significantly and refusing to let the other motorist past them. According to the state police, when the driver of the Malibu began to change lanes into the path of the Terrain, the driver of the SUV lost control and spun, which resulted in the cars colliding with each other. After the Terrain flipped over, Albertson was thrown out of the vehicle.
After leaving the road, the Malibu eventually came to a stop in a field. On Friday, August 18, 2023, a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Jackson County claimed the life of a lady from Greenfield.

The drivers involved in the accident, as well as a child passenger in one of the vehicles, were all sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. Both drivers were given blood tests, and the results of the toxicological analysis are now waiting. When the investigation into the incident has been finished by state police, the material will be turned over to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office so that they may decide whether or not charges will be made in connection with the crash.
According to the police, the collision caused the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 to be blocked for approximately three hours.
