Betty McPhee Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and advocate, Betty June McPhee, who departed this world on August 30, 2023, at the age of 78. She passed away surrounded by her cherished family and friends in Toronto, Ontario, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Howard, who shared a lifetime of unwavering love and devotion. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion through her children: Joel, Jennifer (Merle), and Amy (Chris), and her adored grandchildren, Jaimie and Kai. Her family was the center of her universe, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Betty’s deep faith in Jesus Christ was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her with unwavering strength and grace. She was an active and dedicated member of her church, where she found solace, community, and a platform to share her boundless love for others. Betty’s commitment to her faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.
But Betty’s impact extended far beyond her church walls. She was a passionate advocate for the deaf community, tirelessly working to break down barriers faced by those with hearing impairments. For many years, she dedicated herself to teaching deaf students at Northern Secondary School, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives through her dedication and understanding.
Her altruism didn’t end there. Betty served selflessly on the board of the Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation of Canada, where her dedication and commitment to supporting Waldenstrom’s patients shone brightly. Her tireless efforts touched the lives of many and provided hope to those facing difficult journeys.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Monday, September 4th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Toronto Church, located at 383 Jarvis Street, Toronto. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and offer their condolences at the church from 10:00 a.m. before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation of Canada (www.wmfc.ca), a cause near and dear to Betty’s heart, to continue her legacy of compassion and support for those in need.
Betty June McPhee’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, love, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her spirit forever alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
