Clara Olson Obituary, Frog Lake Mourns: One-Year-Old Remembered
Clara Olson Obituary, Death – On August 15, 2023, the Olson family of Frog Lake faced an immense and heart-wrenching loss as their beloved little one, Baby Clara Olson, passed away at the tender age of one. A wave of sorrow swept over the community as they mourned the departure of this precious soul. Clara’s memory is carried forward by her mother, Rebecca Checkosis, and father, Dennis Olson, who cherished her fleeting presence in their lives. She leaves behind not only her parents but also her brothers, Marly Checkosis and Rocky Olson, as well as her sister, Ally Olson. The family bonds were strong, and Clara’s presence had surely woven a beautiful thread of joy into their lives.
She was met on her journey to the other side by her late grandmother, Marlene Moyah. Clara’s lineage extended through generations, and her great-grandparents, Clara and Oliver Moyah, were among those who welcomed her with open arms. While grief may fill the hearts of her family, her memory is nurtured by the love that surrounds her.
In the embrace of sorrow, the Olson family found solace in the presence of their extended kin. Clara’s maternal grandparents, Terry and Lillian Moyah, stood as pillars of support, alongside her paternal grandparent, Big Sorrow Horse from Blood Reserve. The ties of family were further interwoven with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who all shared in the love that Clara brought into their lives.
The community joined hands to honor Clara’s memory and celebrate her brief yet meaningful life. A Wake was planned for Tuesday, August 29, with proceedings commencing at 3:00 p.m. from Grace Gardens. The Norman C. Quinney Careers Centre in Frog Lake would serve as the gathering place. A Funeral Service was scheduled for the following day, Wednesday, August 30, at 11:00 a.m., once again at the Norman C. Quinney Careers Centre. Elders were entrusted with the solemn duty of officiating the service, bringing with them the wisdom of ages as they guided the family through their farewells.
Clara’s final resting place would be the Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Cemetery in Frog Lake, a serene spot where her memory could be cherished amidst the beauty of nature. In the midst of their grief, the family found strength in coming together to bid their precious Clara a fond farewell. For those who wished to offer their condolences, a virtual space was created at www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com, allowing friends and acquaintances to extend their sympathies and share their memories of Clara.
