Trooper Wolf’s unwavering dedication to his duty and his selfless commitment to protecting his community will forever be etched in our hearts. Born on May 12, 1977, Chad H. Wolf was a man of integrity, valor, and unyielding courage. He joined the Michigan State Police in 2008, a decision that marked the beginning of a remarkable journey dedicated to upholding justice and safeguarding the lives of his fellow citizens.

Graduating as a proud member of the 121st Trooper Recruit School, he embarked on a path of service that would define his legacy. Trooper Wolf’s passion for his role was evident in every facet of his career. He served with distinction at the Jackson, Flint, and Metro posts, continually demonstrating an unbreakable commitment to his fellow officers and the communities he served. His dedication did not go unnoticed,

and in September 2013, he became a member of the revered Motor Unit, a role that allowed him to blend his love for law enforcement with his passion for motorcycles. Tragedy struck on the morning of August 28, 2015, when Trooper Wolf was patrolling on his department-issued motorcycle in Oakland County. While navigating northbound Dixie Highway near southbound I-75, a devastating collision occurred with a passenger vehicle towing a trailer.

Despite the harrowing circumstances, Trooper Wolf’s courage prevailed as he valiantly fought against the forces that sought to challenge him. He was tragically dragged by the trailer for several miles along I-75 before the vehicle came to a halt at the Holly Road rest area. Trooper Wolf’s indomitable spirit and unwavering determination were emblematic of his character. Despite the severity of his injuries, he clung to life, a testament to his resilience.

Transported to Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, he exhibited remarkable strength, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void that can never be filled. Chad H. Wolf’s sacrifice resonates deeply, serving as a solemn reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers undertake daily to protect our communities. His legacy lives on through the memories shared by his family, friends, and fellow officers, as well as the countless lives he touched during his dedicated service.
