Edgar Martinez Obituary, Death – Edgar Martinez’s parents were Ruben Martinez and Catalina Ayala Martinez, and he was born on March 6, 1977 in the city of Maywood in the state of California. The unexpected passing of Edgar Martinez on April 23, 2023, at the age of 46, was a tragic event for his family and the people who were close to him. In 1986, he uprooted his life and moved to the Houston area, where he began his own family and, in due time, became the proud parent of three young ladies.

Since that time, he has been an adult parent. In addition to his passion for the kitchen, he was a devoted fan of every single one of Houston’s professional sports teams, regardless of the sport they played (baseball, basketball, or football). He cheered for each and every one of them. Edgar was known for being a selfless person as well as a wonderful parent who valued the time he spent with his wife and children and held those relationships in the highest regard.

Everyone who had the opportunity to become acquainted with him and love him will experience a great sense of loss upon learning of his passing. His parents, Ruben Martinez and Catalina Martinez, had already passed away before he did. He followed in their footsteps. He is survived by his wife, Angely Alvarenga of Katy; his daughters Clarissa Martinez of Laredo, Zoe Martinez of Katy, and Noa Martinez, also of Katy; his brothers Ruben Martinez of Houston and Armando Martinez and his wife Lizzette, also of Katy; his sister Patty Martinez of Katy; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was married to Angely Alvarenga. He had three kids with his wife, Angely Alvarenga, and together they ran a successful business. At the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel in Katy on the afternoon of Sunday, April 30, 2023, the family will welcome guests for a visiting beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon and continuing until two o’clock in the afternoon. The Reverend C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn will preside over the funeral services, which will begin at two o’clock in the afternoon and be held at the funeral home.
