Peter Panousis Obituary, Death – Vale Peter Panousis was born in 1960 and passed away in 2023.
On August 25th, a cherished member of the City of Sydney Basketball Association who passed away quietly with his family at his side was Peter Panousis. Peter’s engagement with the City of Sydney Basketball Association (CSBA) began in the early 2000s when his children Andrew, Pam, and Vanessa began playing in our Saturday local competition for CYS. CSBA is an acronym for the City of Sydney Basketball Association.

Peter served as president of the CYS basketball club for over ten years and on the CYS basketball committee for well over 15 years combined. Throughout this entire time period, Peter was a fervent supporter of the expansion of the sport at the grassroots level. Peter was one of the first people to volunteer to be the team manager when his children started playing representative basketball for the Sydney Comets. His involvement didn’t stop there;

he was also a valued member of the Representative Committee, Fundraising Committees, and CSBA tribunal/judiciary panels. When his children started playing, Peter was one of the first people to volunteer to be the team manager. He was always one of the first people to volunteer for bench duty. In addition, he was the master of the barbecue and helped plan a variety of presentation nights. Peter, who was well-known for his exceptionally sharp sense of humor and quick wit,

had a multitude of snarky comments and laughter to share with anyone and everyone who happened to cross his path. The California State Bar Association would like to express its deepest sympathies to Andrew, Pam, and Vanessa, as well as his friends and family.Funeral Arrangements: The event will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at the Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church located at Gardeners Road, Kingsford, New South Wales 2032.
