George Mickey Obituary, Death – George “Mickey” Mack Jr., aged 93, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Jeanne Helen (nee Jackson) Mack, and their children: David D. Mack, Tracy Jo (Michael) Fink, Victoria (Vincent) McDonough, and the late Shirley Jo, Robert (Rachel) O’Dowd, and Danny O’Dowd. George was born to the late Susie (nee Frisco) and the late George Mack Sr. and was a cherished son, grandpa, and great-grandpa.

George, known affectionately as “Mickey,” began his journey in Summit, Illinois. He graduated from Argo High School and embarked on a career with Corn Products and UOP LLC. He later settled in Justice, Illinois, where he raised his family and became an integral part of the community. He proudly served as the past Fire Chief of the Justice Volunteer Fire Department and was an active member of the Sportsmen Club.

In his later years, Mickey and his wife, Jeanne, enjoyed their retirement in Pinellas Park, Florida, where they created beautiful memories together. Mickey was an avid fisherman and spent many months each year casting lines into the serene waters of Florida.

George will be dearly missed by his family, including his grandchildren: Matthew, Elizabeth, Robert, Frank, David, Stacy, Courtney, and Brianna, as well as his eight great-grandchildren. He is also remembered fondly by his late brothers, James (late Phyllis) and Samuel (late Lorraine), and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Visitation to celebrate George “Mickey” Mack Jr.’s life will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, located at 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.

A funeral service and time of remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:30 AM at the same funeral home. George will find his final resting place at Bethania Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George’s memory to a charity of your choice. Mickey’s legacy of love, community involvement, and his passion for fishing will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
