Jay Brodie Obituary, Death – Chatham Kent mourns the loss of John David Brodie, Jr. (Jay), a beloved member of the Snow Creek community, who departed this world on March 30, 2019, at the age of 55. Jay’s life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the profound love of family and the great outdoors.

Jay is survived by his loving parents, John D. Brodie, Sr. and Nancy Grindstaff Brodie, as well as his dear brother, Robert (Melissa). He was the proud uncle of Mackenzie and Seth, bringing joy and laughter to their lives. Jay’s warm presence extended to numerous other family members and friends who were fortunate to know him.

Jay was a man of the outdoors, finding solace and serenity in the natural world. His love for hunting was a passion that brought him closer to nature and allowed him to relish the beauty of the great outdoors. Funeral services to honor Jay’s life were held on April 2, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel, where friends and family gathered to pay their respects. Following the service, Jay was laid to rest at Grindstaff Family Cemetery, a place that now holds his memory with care.

The family received guests starting at 2:00 p.m. on the day of the service at Flora Funeral Service, and at other times, welcomed friends and loved ones to the home of Robert and Melissa Brodie. As we remember John David Brodie, Jr. (Jay), we are reminded of his deep connection to family, his love for the outdoors, and the simplicity of a life well-lived. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
