John Mcgill Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John J. McGill, a devoted husband, loving father, and a pillar of the community. John, aged 77, of Bryan, Ohio, peacefully departed on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 5:40 p.m., surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. John’s legacy is one of service and selflessness. He dedicated 11 years of his life as a Deputy Sheriff for Williams County, a role that required courage, dedication, and a commitment to the safety of his community. During his tenure, he was also a valuable member of the SCUBA and Search and Recovery team, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to helping others in times of need.

In his leisure time, John found solace in working on automobile engines and watching NASCAR races. His passion for these pursuits was evident to all who knew him. He was also a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and fellow members. John’s life was a tapestry woven with various challenges, each contributing to the compassionate, generous, and loving person he became. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, exemplifying the true spirit of community.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Judy, and his children, John (Cheryl) McGill and Jeff McGill of Montpelier, Joe (Donna Meyer) McGill of Edgerton, and Jody (Bill) Allen of Montpelier. He is also survived by stepchildren Kym Kurtz of Edgerton, Christine Alwood of Lake Seneca, Kevin Spangler of Edgerton, and Denise Norrick of Montpelier. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Joshua, and more, who will continue to cherish his memory.

John’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
