Mary Neabel Death, Obituary – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Neabel (nee Pickett) on Monday, August 28th, at the age of 79. Mary’s journey unfolded in and around the Alliston area, where she was born, raised, and spent most of her cherished life. With a love for exploration, she often embarked on trips to Florida with her beloved siblings, creating cherished memories.
Mary’s joyful spirit was evident in her enthusiasm for a good game of cards, especially her favorite, euchre. She will forever be remembered for her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the gentle acts of kindness she bestowed upon others. Her legacy is etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mary’s devotion extended to her role as a mother, nurturing her children Dan (Sue), Catherine, Derek (Teresa), and Allan (Mary) with unwavering love. She was a loving grandmother to Madison, Siobhan, Ben, Chris, Cole, William, Samantha, and a doting great-grandmother to Olivia, Miles, and Finley. Among her cherished companions were her sister Anne and her late siblings Marg and Paul, as well as her beloved husband Gord Neabel. Her life was further enriched by a three and a half year companionship with Peter Brown.
In honor of Mary’s memory, the family welcomes memorial donations to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation or Southlake Regional Foundation. These gestures of kindness would reflect Mary’s essence of care and compassion.
Plans are underway for a Celebration of Mary’s Life, and details will be shared in due time. As we remember the vibrant and kind-hearted woman that Mary was, may her spirit continue to shine in our hearts.
