Raymond Harrell Obituary, Death – After a valiant battle with cancer, Raymond “Ray” Anthony Harrell, 70, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on August 12, 2023, in the comfort of his own home. His devoted fiancée Melanie Starling and her sister Lisa Graham took care of him around the clock. Parents Tony and Maryann, sisters Laura, Toni, and Betty, and nephews Matthew and Nathan all passed away before Ray. Melanie, their son Thomas (and Candice), and their grandchildren Oakley and River are left behind. He is also survived by his brother David, sister Ceci (Darrell), and many cherished nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
There are too many people to count who mourn his loss. Ray was a cherished person who had a significant impact on the lives of many. He was well-liked by those who encountered him because of his warm personality, sense of humor, and generosity. Because of his generous nature, he was a pleasure to be around. He was naturally funny and could make anyone smile. Ray’s absence will be deeply felt by all those he met. Those who were lucky enough to have known him will hold his memory dear, and his legacy of generosity and humor will continue to be an inspiration to future generations.
Born in Macon, Georgia, on August 6, 1953. Ray grew up in Jacksonville, where he worked with his father at the family frame company. Ray went to school at Englewood High. After finishing school, he launched his own picture framing business and quickly became profitable. Because of his keen eye for design and attention to detail, he was in high demand. On September 9, 2023, at 11 a.m., Preservation Church on Atlantic Boulevard in San Marco will have a Celebration of Life for Ray Harrell. Everyone who knew and loved Ray is welcome to attend this celebration of his life. After that, there will be a little family get-together. If a grain of wheat doesn’t die as it falls into the ground, it will always remain a single grain; if it does die, however, it will produce a bountiful harvest.
