Robert Lee Boren Obituary, Resident of Cadiz, Kentucky Robert Lee Boren Has Passed Away At Age 79
Robert Lee Boren Death, Obituary – On Thursday, August 31, 2023, our hearts were heavy as we said goodbye to Robert Lee Boren, aged 79, of Cadiz, Kentucky. He passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home, surrounded by the love of his family. Robert’s life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for his family and his passions.
Born on September 26, 1943, in Linton, Trigg County, Kentucky, Robert devoted 25 years of his life to Phelps Dodge in Hopkinsville, where he retired. After the closure of Phelps Dodge, he embarked on a new journey as an over-the-road truck driver, partnering with his brother, Herbert Lee. Work was not just a necessity for Robert; it was a testament to his unwavering commitment.
Beyond work, Robert’s true joy could be found in his garage, where he honed his craft of building and tinkering with machines. His most cherished achievement was the meticulous restoration of his 1956 Ford Victoria, a labor of love from start to finish. He also enjoyed the thrill of riding 4-wheelers and, above all, relished his role as “Papaw” to his family.
In the arms of his daughter’s home, Robert joins his parents in eternal rest. He is also reunited with his sisters, Beulah Wallace and Ortha Fox, and sister-in-law, Patricia Boren. Their memories will forever be cherished.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love in his two daughters: Tina (Mark) Boren Lane of Cadiz and Roberta “Bobbi” (Shane) Boren Gee of Hopkinsville, KY. His spirit lives on through his three beloved grandchildren: Madison (Jeremy) Alexander, Austin (Sanja) Norrid, and Isabella Norrid. The joy of his life, great-grandson Julian Lane Alexander, carries his legacy forward.
Robert is also survived by his brother, Herbert Lee Boren of Murray, KY, and his sisters, Martha Hinton of Cadiz and Dorothy Russell of Dover, TN, who will carry his memory with them in the years to come.
We will come together to remember Robert’s life at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, on Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Following this, we will gather at Matheny Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes at 2:30 p.m. for graveside services, with Rev. Tim Morgan officiating.
In the embrace of this farewell, we find solace in knowing that Robert’s love and memories will forever reside in our hearts. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of hard work, dedication, and familial love will continue to inspire us.
