Robert Robbie Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Robbie) LaDon Duke Jr., who departed from this world on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 49, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Robbie faced a courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer, displaying immense strength and resilience throughout his journey.
Born on January 7, 1974, in Tallahassee, Florida, Robbie was the beloved son of LaDon and Alice Duke. Robbie’s life was a testament to his outgoing spirit, boundless love for his family, and unwavering commitment to being there when they needed him most.
Robbie’s presence brought warmth and joy to all those fortunate enough to know him. He was a pillar of support, a loving brother to Kimberly Prescott, a doting father to his daughters, Brittany Duke-Coleman (Mason Coleman) and Alexis Duke (Ben Austin), and a proud grandfather to Alex Nichols, Alexis Coleman, Ian Coleman, Matthew Coleman, Bentley Austin, and one more cherished grandchild on the way. He found great happiness in watching his family grow and prosper, and his love for them knew no bounds.
In addition to his immediate family, Robbie leaves behind a legacy of love and connection, remembered by his nephew Blake Prescott, his significant other Dede Drummond, and a multitude of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins who were touched by his kindness and compassion.
Robbie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milton and Vonnie Duke, as well as his father, Robert LaDon Duke Sr. While his physical presence may no longer grace us, his memory and the love he shared with his family and friends will live on forever.
A memorial service to celebrate Robbie’s life will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm CT at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel. Prior to the service, the family will be receiving friends starting at 1:00 pm CT.
