Robert Terry Boyd Obituary, Robert Terry Boyd Has Died At Age 86

Robert Terry Boyd Death, Obituary – It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Robert Terry Boyd, a beloved member of our community, on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the age of 86. As we come together to honor his life, we find solace in the memories we shared and the legacy he leaves behind.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at Elsie First Baptist Church in Elsie, MI at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, with Pastor Phillip Rogers officiating. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather for a visitation from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. A future date will be set for the burial at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, MI.

Bob’s journey began on October 16, 1936, in Owosso, MI, born to John and Mamie (Madison) Boyd. He proudly graduated from Owosso High School and later served his country with honor in the U.S. Army. On May 17, 1985, he joined his life with Rita’s in Elsie, MI, and together they shared years of love, companionship, and memories.

A pillar of faith, Bob was dedicated to Elsie First Baptist Church, where he found solace, friendship, and a deep connection to the Lord. His love for his church family was evident to all who knew him. Bob’s career led him to General Motors at the Buick Plant in Flint, where he devoted 34 years of service.

Among his passions, bowling held a special place in Bob’s heart. He eagerly looked forward to his weekly bowling outings, enjoying the camaraderie of friends and the thrill of the game. He held great appreciation for his friend Chuck Washburn, who picked him up each week and shared in the joy of his achievements. As a devoted Tigers fan, he cheered on his team with enthusiasm, and his affection for Scooby Doo brought smiles to all around him.

Above all, Bob cherished his family. He took immense pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding endless joy in their presence. Bob’s legacy is one of love, faith, dedication, and a zest for life.

As we bid farewell to Bob, let us remember the light he brought into our lives and the warmth of his presence. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Arrangements for the Memorial Service and visitation are under the compassionate care of the Elsie First Baptist Church community. May Bob rest in peace, and may his loved ones find comfort in the shared love and memories they hold dear.
