Sue Stearley Obituary, Death – Sue Anne Stearley, aged 77, a resident of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on August 30, 2023, due to complications arising from a heart attack. Born on March 23, 1946, in Clay County, Indiana, Sue was the beloved daughter of Paul and Helen (Deakins) Maesch. On October 13, 1962, she entered into marriage with Jerry Stearley. Sue was an active member of the Brazil First Baptist Church and found joy in assisting her daughter Cindy at Vision Quest Garden Center, nurturing flower gardens, and cherishing moments spent with her cherished family.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Maesch, and her daughter, Michele Lee Stearley. Left to honor her memory is her devoted husband of 62 years, Jerry Stearley, along with her loving children: Kristi Cabotage (Eldemar), Cindy Bryant (Will), Amy Stearley, and Joe Stearley (Kristie Whitlock). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Ashlee Bennett, John Bennett II (Haley), Erik Bennett, Ethan Cabotage, Randall Kline, Jessica Schultz, Abby Cramer, Zachary Jones, Joey Stearley, Baelee Fagg, Karrsyn Stearley, Braelyn Clodfelter, and Brooklyn Stearley.
Sue’s presence will also be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren: Kloee Vanatti, Kadyn Vanatti, Kylee Mitchell, Mya Miller, Ari Frye, Vera Frye, Jensen Bennett, Elijah Bennett, Emma Bennett, Alaina Bennett, Tucker Kline, Layla Stearley, Olivia Stearley, Alice Hultquist, and Waylon Fagg. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Drake and Janet Lang, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A graveside service is scheduled to take place at Centerpoint Cemetery on Friday, September 1, 2023, commencing at approximately 3:00 PM. The compassionate team at French Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with overseeing her final arrangements.
