Tonya Smith Obituary, Death – Born in Alhambra, California on July 27, 1969, Renee Maxwell was adopted by Del and Renee Maxwell shortly after her birth. On Saturday, July 15, 2023, she died peacefully in her sleep. Tonya is survived by her Husband Milton Andy Smith, her Mom and Dad, Delwyn and Renee, her Sister Shauna Madsen (Eric), niece Amanda Jenen, her boys Colin and Liam, niece Katie Tinoco (Edwin Jared Tinoco) Brooks, nephew Max Madsen (Macrina Romero Madsen) Matias, Micah and Mia, nephew Ethan J. Madsen; sister Rita Ruffell, nephew Jeremy Freestone (Aimee Sorenson), nephew Colby Ruffell (Shay Hullinger), Braxton

Neice: Alyssa Ruffell Williams (Tyson Williams). On April 10, 1999, Tonya wed her childhood friend and devoted boyfriend Andy. They established residence in Yakima, Washington, in addition to Tooele and Sandy, Utah.

When Andy would take the ladies and their dogs Cinnamon and Lilly on long range truck excursions, Tonya would often tag along with Andy as a passenger. Tonya has never outgrown her affection for animals, particularly canines. She took in Molly and Jake as her own, and her love for them was overwhelming. Tonya has always had a soft spot in her heart for those in need, especially children, the elderly, and those who are lonely.

Tonya and Helen Robinette collaborated to create a number of quilts for charitable organizations. Tonya assisted her mother in the production of knotted quilts for the grandchildren. She was devoted to providing assistance to her mother and was incessantly concerned about her parents. Tonya adored her nephews Colin and Liam and often referred to them as “her boys.” She was like a second mother to them, and she adored the opportunity to spend time with them and dote on them.

Tonya cherished many people and things, including Andy, Facebook, friends, family, God, getting her nails done with her mother, assisting her mother with shopping, getting her hair trimmed with Lisa Dailey, having daily conversations with Mary Erkelens, and having many relatives and cousins as friends on Facebook. I’d want to extend my gratitude to all of my countless other pals. We are grateful to you for making Tonya’s life easier in the way that you did.
