Wayne Robbins Obituary, Death –  The Mitchell Wayne L. Robbins, age 77, passed away at 1:20 in the morning on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Bloomington Hospital. He resided at 4161 State Road 60 West in Mitchell, Indiana. He was the son of John and Nellie (Carter) Robbins and was born on July 29, 1926 in Lawrence County. His mother’s maiden name was Carter. Ruthie Lou Neumeister was his wife, and they wed on September 1, 1946; she passed away on September 26, 1992.

After working for General Motors in Bedford for many years, he eventually took early retirement and went on to work as a security guard and deliver buses for Carpenter Body Works in Mitchell. He was a member of Dive Christian Church and served in the United States Navy in the past.

The following people are listed as survivors: two sons, Wayne (Sonny) Robbins of Richmond, Indiana, and Michael Robbins of Orleans, Indiana; three daughters, Ruth Anne Boteler and her husband, Jeff, of Cottondale, Alabama, Lois Ann Mitchell and her husband, Donald, of Bedford, and Lee Anna Hanks and her husband, Michael, of Mitchell; thirteen grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers,

Johnny Johnson will preside over the funeral services that will be held at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary on Friday, December 12 at 1:00 pm. After the service, burial will take place at Green Hill Cemetery. At the Day & Carter Mortuary, friends and family are welcome to call between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, and from 9:00 am until the hour of the service on Friday.
