William Webb Obituary, Death – is William Webb related to Bill Webb in any way? On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the age of 79, William H. “Wild Bill” Webb, Jr. died away suddenly at his home on the terms that he chose. All of those who knew him will remember him fondly for his warm, inviting open door and his jovial, lively sense of humor.
On August 9, 1943, he entered the world in Milford, Delaware. His father, William H. Webb, Sr., and his mother, Catherine M. Murphy, were the parents of all three of their kids, but he was the oldest. Wild Bill lived up to his moniker by having spontaneous fun, telling legendary stories, and taking a trip along the beach in anything that had a motor, which earned him the nickname “Wild Bill.” He will be remembered for his love of
South Bowers Beach and its preservation for everybody to enjoy, his pets over the years, his obstinate and prideful spirit as a founder Webb, and a 64 years of active fire service with South Bowers Volunteer Fire Company as the oldest serving member. Bill was married in 1978 to Patricia B. Clymer, who preceded him. He is survived by his two children; three step children; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers; five nieces and nephews and three great nieces.
A celebration of life in his honor will be held at the South Bowers Volunteer Fire Co., 57 Scotts Corner Rd. Milford, DE 19963, on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 4:00 pm. The celebration is open to the public. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Bill’s honor to the South Bowers Volunteer Fire Co.
